Ground Breaking Technology

ProtectivAIR^® is designed for use in professional environments where there is a risk of infection transmission via inhalation of droplets or aerosols. It provides the wearer with a continuous flow of real-time biologically UV-C cleansed air, providing immediate protection against airborne pathogens, irrespective of mutations or variants.

ProtectivAIR^® comprises a UV-C disinfection chamber worn on a belt or harness which is connected to a comfortable face mask. Within the chamber, energetic UV-C photons pass through the infectious micro-organisms, damaging their nucleic acid (RNA or DNA) which disables their ability to replicate and infect the body.

ProtectivAIR^® is backed by a substantial range of evidence which conclusively demonstrates its effectiveness, safety and usability. This includes tests at Public Health England, Porton Down (PHE), where a range of pathogens including viruses, bacteria and spores were passed through the device, with laboratory measurements on the treated air showing multiple orders of magnitude reduction.

Technology Features

UV-C Light Technology
Is a radiation method that makes use of a specific wavelength of ultraviolet light to neutralize micro-organisms. UV-C light is germicidal, which means it targets the DNA structure of micro-organisms like bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens, disrupting their ability to multiply and cause disease.

Exhalation Control
Is achieved by a highly efficient filter attached to the mask. This provides 99.999% viral filtration of exhaled breath whilst maintaining acceptably low levels of breathing resistance. According to recent guidance1 ProtectivAIR® is therefore a permissible RPE solution when undertaking surgical or invasive procedures, and procedures where sterility over the surgical field is required.

Batteries

ProtectivAIR^® is supplied with a 5C 16V 3.8Ah 6-hour rechargeable lithium battery which is rated for 2000 cycles of charge & discharge.
