Minibox-HD2 is an enclosed UV-C device disinfection chamber designed to provide high-level disinfection of bacteria, viruses, spores and other microorganisms on small objects. Perfect for reusable medical devices, face masks, anaesthetic equipment, surgical and dental tool kits.
Minibox-HD2 uses proven UV-C light technology from new-generation solid-state LED light sources that are miniaturised, mercury-free, and work in combination with advanced reflector optics to provide powerful all-round high-level disinfection in 5 minutes.
The unit's intuitive, modular design is provided in a metal powder-coated casing for a stylish surface finish that can be located in places convenient to point-of-care.
Minibox-HD2 is verified by an independent UKAS-accredited laboratory to meet the demanding requirements of the new UV-C surface disinfection standard BS 8628:2022, and was among the first devices of its type to be independently tested against BS 8628:2022.

Technology
UV-C is a radiation method that makes use of a specific wavelength of ultraviolet light to neutralise micro-organisms. UV-C light is germicidal - it targets the DNA structure of micro-organisms such as bacteria, viruses and other pathogens, disrupting their ability to multiply and spread disease.
Test laboratory
All bio-validation evidence was obtained by an independent UKAS-accredited test laboratory, following the methodology specified in BS 8628:2022. Method reporting and dose confirmation are available on request.

A chamber for the high-level disinfection of medical devices, PPE and other reusable items in a healthcare environment, which shall have the following features:
- · Solid-State LED UV-C light sources operating in the range 260-270 nm
- · A highly reflective specular aluminium surface lining all inner surfaces of the chamber, with UV-C reflectivity > 85%
- · Built-in software that defines a disinfection cycle, typically 5 minutes
- · A UV-C dose delivered to the centre of the chamber of at least 600 mJ/cm²
- · An interlocked door that provides immediate cut-out if opened during a cycle, protecting the user from UV-C radiation
The performance of the chamber shall be evidenced by bio-validation data from a 3rd-party test laboratory accredited by UKAS (or equivalent body), confirming:
- · The required dose of > 600 mJ/cm²
- · Achievement of the log-reduction rates on the five challenge organisms specified in BS 8628:2022
- · Method reporting demonstrating BS 8628:2022 methodology was followed when obtaining the above evidence
